THERE’S A REASON YOU’RE LOOKING
More confidence. More focus. Something that matters.
Sometimes the goal is bigger than learning to punch or kick. It’s helping your child face a difficult day. Making time for your own health. Finding people who expect your best and help you work toward it.
Parents about their children
“I want them to stand a little taller.”
Maybe your child hangs back, gets distracted, or worries about being picked on. You want them to feel capable without having to pretend they’re fearless.
Here’s where we start: a manageable new skill, clear instructions, respectful partners, and another chance to try. Students practice listening, speaking up, and staying with a challenge.
It’s hard to stay consistent when exercise feels like one more chore. Learning a skill gives you something to work on beyond the clock or the calorie counter.
Give your effort a purpose: learn a combination, improve your footwork, or solve a grappling problem. Train alongside people who are learning too.

OUR STUDENTS. OUR ACADEMY.
KIDS MARTIAL ARTS IN PUYALLUP
How kids practice focus, confidence, and respect.
Confidence grows through experiences: learning something unfamiliar, working with a partner, and recognizing progress that took effort.
Clear routines
Students listen, watch a demonstration, practice, and receive feedback. Repetition gives them opportunities to work on focus and follow-through.
Respect in action
Taking turns, controlling movement, and treating partners well are part of training, not just words on the wall.
Bullying concerns deserve a conversation
Tell us what your child is facing. We can discuss confidence and self-defense goals, and how a class may fit. Training complements the support of parents and school staff.
For students who enjoy kicks, striking, forms, and the challenge of refining a movement.
What you learn
Stances, hand techniques, kicks, combinations, and forms. Students practice balance, coordination, accuracy, and control as they develop the fundamentals.
How that supports your goals
A technique becomes a task you can work on. Instructor feedback gives you a specific correction. Consistent practice helps you see what is improving and what needs more attention.
A beginner’s path
Our beginner classes welcome new students ages 6 and older. All Belts classes welcome white belts too. As students progress, they can discuss sparring and competition interests with the instructors.
A young child’s first class should have room for learning how to learn. Lil Warriors introduces movement, listening, taking turns, and following directions through age-appropriate martial arts activities.
Start with a positive experience and a simple routine. Let our team help you decide whether your child is ready for the group.
Youth Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Learn to work the problem.
Our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes for kids ages 6–12 introduce grappling through technique, partner practice, and clear instruction. Young students learn in the Marcelo Alonso Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tradition.
What happens on the mat
Kids practice positions, escapes, and controlled partner drills while learning to listen, take turns, and respect their training partners.
What you’re working toward
Build coordination, confidence, and practical grappling skills. Each class gives kids opportunities to solve problems, manage challenges, and keep working with a partner.
Youth BJJ is for ages 6–12. Teens ages 13+ train in our teens and adults program.
PARTNER PRACTICE. REAL PROGRESS.
FOR THE PERSON BEHIND THE PARENT
Adult martial arts. Train with a purpose.
Train for a stronger routine, new skills, or the satisfaction of doing something difficult. Beginners don’t need to arrive fit or experienced. They need a place to start.
TEENS & ADULTS · AGES 13+ · PUYALLUP
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for teens and adults. Technique. Confidence. Connection.
Our Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu classes for ages 13+ bring teens and adults together to learn practical grappling skills. Beginners are welcome in our Marcelo Alonso Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu program.
Learn to work the problem
Practice positions, escapes, and controlled partner drills. Learn how timing, position, and technique help you respond to a physical challenge.
Train with purpose and community
Develop movement, conditioning, and self-defense skills through regular practice, instructor feedback, and time on the mat with training partners.
Learn punching and kicking technique, footwork, and defense in a high-intensity class. Partner drills give your training a purpose beyond repetition alone.
Build your conditioning while working on timing, accuracy, and control. Sparring is part of the training offered as students develop; discuss readiness and equipment with our team.
Ask about gloves, shin guards, and first-class requirements before attending.
FAMILY MARTIAL ARTS · PUYALLUP
One family. Different goals. Room to train your way.
Your PMA membership lets you train across our different programs. You do not need to choose just one martial art. Mix Taekwondo, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, and Kickboxing as long as you meet each class’s age requirements.
Family members can build different routines around their interests and schedules. Kids can explore striking and grappling, while teens and adults can add Kickboxing to their training.
White belts are also welcome in All Belts Taekwondo. Contact PMA for additional class times and help enrolling.
HOW WE HELP YOU MOVE FORWARD
Small victories. Lasting confidence.
At Pinnacle, progress comes from clear instruction, consistent practice, and challenges you learn to handle. We help kids, teens, and adults turn training into skills and habits they can use beyond the mat.
01
Start where you are.
Tell us what brings you in: confidence for your child, practical self-defense, or a workout with purpose. We help you find an age-appropriate starting point. No experience needed.
02
Learn with guidance.
Watch a clear demonstration, practice the basics, and get specific corrections. From a first stance to a partner drill, we teach technique alongside control, respect, and care for others.
03
Turn effort into skill.
Repeat the movement, work with a partner, and try again with feedback. Consistent training gives you opportunities to handle frustration, solve problems, and recognize improvement you have earned.
04
Carry confidence forward.
A sharper technique. A challenge you no longer avoid. The patience to keep working. Recognize those wins with your instructors, set your next goal, and practice those same habits at home, school, or work.

Pinnacle has served Puyallup, Graham, and Spanaway families since 2009. Martial arts brings us onto the mat. The people beside us give us more reasons to keep showing up.
PART OF THIS COMMUNITY SINCE 2009
Progress means more when someone sees it.
A child finds the courage to try again. A parent makes time for their own growth. A teammate stays to help with one more repetition. These are the everyday moments that make an academy feel like your place.
At PMA, we teach practical martial arts alongside a shared responsibility: respect your partners, bring your effort, and help the people around you grow.
A first class can feel like a big step. Here, you learn beside people who remember their own first day. Partners practice together, instructors guide the next attempt, and familiar faces become part of your week.
02
CELEBRATE THE WORK
The belt is personal. The pride is shared.
A promotion represents the days a student showed up, listened, struggled, and tried again. Families and training partners get to celebrate that effort together. Seminars and competitions offer new challenges to work toward.
03
BELONG BEYOND CLASS
Build something bigger than a training routine.
From community open houses to Trunk or Treat, PMA makes room for neighbors to connect. Respect, patience, and care for others belong beyond the mat, too. That is the kind of community we work to build.

Taekwondo emphasizes kicks, strikes, and forms. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu emphasizes grappling, escapes, and positional control. Kickboxing develops punching, kicking, footwork, and defense in a high-intensity format. Lil Warriors is designed for ages 4–5. Use Help Me Choose or call us to discuss the best starting point.
My child is shy or struggles to focus. Can we try?
Yes. Talk with us about what helps your child feel comfortable and follow instructions. Clear routines and repeated practice give students opportunities to work on attention and confidence. The trial helps you see how your child responds. Individual experiences vary.
Can martial arts help a child with ADHD?
Classes offer structured opportunities to practice listening, movement, and focus. They are not treatment for ADHD or a substitute for professional care. Tell our team about your child’s needs so we can discuss whether our class format is a suitable fit.
What if bullying is why we’re looking?
Tell us what is happening and what you hope your child will learn. We can discuss confidence, control, and self-defense goals. No class can guarantee that bullying will stop. An ongoing situation also needs support from responsible adults and school staff.
Am I too inexperienced or out of shape to start?
Beginners are welcome. You don’t need previous martial arts experience to ask about a beginner class. Talk with the instructors about your fitness, experience, and any training limitations to find an appropriate starting point.
What happens after the $29 trial?
The trial expires without automatically renewing. If you want to continue, you choose an ongoing membership separately. Review the current options, prices, and terms before enrolling.
What should we bring to the first class?
Bring water and comfortable athletic clothing. Your trial includes a uniform; ask about pickup, sizing, arrival instructions, and any required waiver. Kickboxing students should also confirm gloves and other equipment requirements.
